Research by Harvard shows fast walking and running can help improve your sex life, which is good news, since walking also brings rewards with WeWard.

The free walking app WeWard gives you rewards when you go for a walk. You can get cash, gifts, and donate to charities whilst also improving your fitness, and enhancing your romantic life.

To motivate couples to walk more together, the app asked experts to comment on the benefits of walking for your relationship.

Sex and Relationship Therapist Rhian Kivits said: “A great way to start intimacy, is by beginning to relax together in different environments, like walking. Choose a time when you are both off work, like the weekend, and use it to explore new areas. By changing things up, it can often lead to being more open-minded and trying new things in the bedroom.”

Meanwhile, Integrative Psychotherapist, Psychosexual & Relationship Therapist Helen Mayor said: “Walking is also a shared activity, you can be playful, discover new places, pop for a coffee or daydream about your future home or holiday. It can lighten the mood and bring you physically close and build passion.”

Trauma informed couples and Psychosexual Therapist Jodie Slee also added that walking “increases your circulation and helps ensure a healthy circulatory system”. “This means that walkers may more easily become aroused and may achieve higher levels of arousal and overall sexual satisfaction.”
