The V&A have announced they are to stage a “revelatory exhibition” exploring the 40-year of fashion model, and British icon Naomi Campbell.
Produced in collaboration with the supermodel herself, curators of the landmark project say the NAOMI exhibition will document Campbell’s extraordinary rise through the fashion industry, from being scouted in Covent Garden aged 15, to three years later becoming the first Black model to grace the cover of Paris Vogue, in 1998.
Featuring pieces pulled from the stars personal wardrobe of haute couture and leading ready-to-wear ensembles, the presentation will showcase around 100 looks worn by Campbell, curtesy of designers including Alexander McQueen, Azzedine Alaïa, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Gianni and Donatella Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld, Kenneth Ize, Valentino, Virgil Abloh, Vivienne Westwood, and Yves Saint Laurent.
In addition to stunning garments and fashion accessories, photography featuring some of Naomi’s most noteworthy shoots and editorial campaigns by leading photographers such as Nick Knight, Steven Meisel and Tim Walker, will form an installation curated by British Vogue’s exiting Editor-in-chief Edward Enninful OBE.
The exhibition will also recognise Campbell’s philanthropic work, including The Diversity Coalition (with Iman and Bethann Hardison) which champions diversity on the catwalk, alongside her on-going active support of emerging creatives, through events such as Arise Fashion Week and her global initiative EMERGE, founded in 2022.
Commenting on the exhibition, Naomi said: “I’m honoured to be asked by the V&A to share my life in clothes with the world.”

The exhibition NAOMI will run from June 22nd 2024 to April 6th 2025. Ticket details will be announced at a later date.
