Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham continue to make headlines as a busy January transfer window approaches the halfway stage, with some huge potential deals in the pipeline. The Gunners are further growing confident that they will sign top target Mykhaylo Mudryk however Chelsea have arrived with another last-ditch attempt to scupper the deal.
The Blues have been strongly linked with a renewed bid for Marcus Thuram after new signing Joao Felix was quickly banned for a red card on his debut. Noni Madueke is another target as well as Moises Caicedo.
Tottenham are still at loggerheads with Sporting CP over Pedro Porro, but they have been handed a major boost in their bid to sign Leandro Trossard. Wout Weghorst’s move to Manchester United has been confirmed, while Lionel Messi could apparently follow great rival Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia in another blockbuster deal worth £245million a year. Arsenal will have to pay £98million to sign Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian striker is still being eyed after snubbing the Gunners to join Juventus a year ago.

Chelsea also look at Caicedo
Moises Caicedo is Chelsea’s Plan B after losing out over Enzo Fernandez.
The Guardian claim there has been progress in talks between Brighton and the Blues, who were willing to spend serious money on Fernandez.
The bid would be Graham Potter’s first return to Brighton for one of his old players, having signed Caicedo two years ago.
Chelsea attempt to gazump Arsenal for Mudryk
Chelsea have made a last-ditch attempt to snatch Mykhaylo Mudryk from underneath Arsenal.
Todd Boehly has held direct talks with the player after a change of approach from the Blues in the last 12 hours, the Telegraph report.
It is said that Chelsea’s package is “significantly better” than what the Gunners are near agreeing with Shakhtar Donetsk, with Mudryk also agreeing to Arsenal’s five-year contract.
PSV boss fears Chelsea bid
Amid rumours of Chelsea offering £25m for Noni Madueke, PSV Eindhoven coach Ruud van Nisterlooy has offered a rather glass-half-empty verdict on the situation.
“I know there is interest,” the PSV boss said via De Telegraaf. “This is due to its qualities and performance. It’s worrisome.
“We need to see if we can keep him. I very much hope for that. We must do everything we can to do that. You also know that things can take off, if the purse is pulled hard.
“Then you have to be ready with several options, because then you would lose the second player in the winter. But as a coach you would rather keep your best players.”

Why are Shakhtar selling Mudryk now?
A key facet in negotations over Mykhaylo Mudryk has been Shakhtar Donetsk’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
After Russia invaded Ukraine, Fifa ruled that foreign players and coaches could suspend their contracts with Ukrainian clubs and find new teams.
Shakhtar had hoped for around £45m in compensation for this but CAS rejected their claim yesterday.
They are still set for a big pay day when a deal is agreed with Arsenal, though.
Thuram to Chelsea latest
Chelsea will need to pay only £8m to land Marcus Thuram this month.
Journalist Christian Falk has stated that fears Barcelona could swoop for the player are growing ahead of him becoming a free agent in the summer.

Arsenal set for Mudryk deal
Shakhtar Donetsk have accepted that Mykhaylo Mudryk will join Arsenal.
In a huge breakthrough for the Gunners’ pursuit of the winger, The Times report on only the small details of the player’s fee needing to be sorted before it goes through.
Arsenal will pay over £50m up-front for the player plus several add-ons, including qualifying for the Champions League and winning the Premier League.
Moyes unhappy with Dawson bid
West Ham boss David Moyes believes Wolves’ bid for Craig Dawson has destabilised his preparations for Saturday’s crucial meeting between the sides, and says the centre-back will not be considered for the trip to Molinuex.
The Hammers are yet to respond to the new bid, but Dawson – who is in the final six months of his contract – is keen on the switch as he looks to move north in order to be closer to his young family in Cheshire.
“When asked whether Dawson was injured, Moyes responded: “I’m just saying he is not available tomorrow.”
Asked about the destabilising effect of an opposition bid immediately before a game, Moyes said: “By the way it is, yeah, I agree with you.”

Mudryk wants debut against Man United
Mykhaylo Mudryk is reportedly eyeing an Arsenal debut against Manchester United next weekend.
That’s according to Ben Jacobs, with it claimed that the winger is “desperate” to be get up and running with the Gunners, having previously hoped a deal would be done ahead of Sunday’s north London derby.
Many of his Shakhtar Donetsk team-mates have seen his move to Arsenal as inevitable in recent months.
Chelsea make Madueke bid
Chelsea have submitted a bid for Noni Madueke.
Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink reports that an offer of €30m has been made by the Blues, as they look to secure the 20-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether that is enough to persuade PSV to sell, particularly considering they have already sold Cody Gakpo to Liverpool this window.
