Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are stepping up their attempts to land some huge deals as the January transfer deadline approaches ever closer. We are ticking down towards the end of the window with Arsenal still scrambling for a Mykhailo Mudryk alternative after losing that particular battle following a sensational 11th-hour hijack by the Blues last weekend.
Arsenal’s move for Leandro Trossard is almost wrapped up, while they have also made contact over Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda. The Gunners also reportedly have an eye on Paris Saint-Germain’s teenage sensation Warren Zaire-Emery and Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby. Chelsea will rival Tottenham and Manchester United for David Raya at Brentford, still remain keen on Moises Caicedo and have also agreed a deal for Noni Madueke.
Tottenham have failed with bids for Pedro Porro and Nicolo Zaniolo and are lining up an audacious move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, while West Ham have agreed to sign Danny Ings in a shock £12m deal and Ilkay Gundogan is set to join Barcelona. Arsenal continue to seek out reinforcements
Not content with Leandro Trossard, Arsenal are eyeing Bournemouth winger Jaidon Anthony.
The former Arsenal academy player is out of contract in the summer.
According to the Mail, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen also fancy a look at Anthony.
Madueke flying to London
Noni Madueke will land in London tonight ahead of undergoing a Chelsea medical.
The PSV winger is on the verge of completing a £40m move to Stamford Bridge, as the Blues’ big-spending continues under Todd Boehly.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Madueke will shortly land in the UK, before signing the contract tomorrow.
Spurs’ failed attempt to sign Trossard
Tottenham had a £12m bid for Leandro Trossard laughed off by Brighton.
Ben Jacobs reports that Spurs were interested in the Belgian but the Seagulls had no intention of entertaining a bid of that nature.
Trossard is on the verge of completing his move to Arsenal, after the Gunners reached an agreement with Brighton.
Tottenham prefer Pochettino over Tuchel
Tottenham would reportedly rather bring Mauricio Pochettino back to the club than hire Thomas Tuchel.
Standard Sport understands that Tuchel would be interested in the Spurs job, should Antonio Conte leave or be sacked.
However, CBS claim that while Tuchel is on Tottenham’s shortlist, a return for Pochettino would be more of a priority.
Chelsea not done yet
Chelsea still in the market for a midfielder, but Brighton consider their key players not for sale in January after releasing Trossard to Arsenal, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
Remains to be seen whether Chelsea can make an offer that the Seagulls can’t reject for Moises Caicedo.
Battle on for Dumfries
Chelsea and Manchester United look set to go head-to-head for Denzel Dumfries.
La Repubblica have reported that the Blues have submitted an opening bid of £31m for the Inter Milan wing-back, as they look to bolster their options with Reece James continuing to face injury problems.
However, Erik ten Hag is also keen on Dumfries, who is valued at £48m by Inter.
Villa eye Ings replacement
Aston Villa are considering Moussa Dembele as a Danny Ings replacement.
Ings has agreed to join West Ham in a move that came somewhat out of the blue, with Unai Emery now set to turn to Dembele.
The Mail report that Villa are interested in the Lyon forward, whoo will be a free agent in the summer.
Chelsea set for sixth January signing
Chelsea have agreed a £35million fee with PSV to sign young forward Noni Madueke, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
The Blues will now discuss personal terms and a long-term contract, with permission to arrange a medical ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 20-year-old London-born attacker could tip Chelsea’s spending beyond £150m in January alone, taking this season’s spree past £450m.

More on Trossard deal
Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Brighton winger Leandro Trossard for an initial £21million with a further £5m agreed in performance-related add-ons, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
The 28-year-old now looks set to move to north London after having already agreed personal terms.

Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a deal to buy Noni Madueke for €40m.
The Blues have been linked with Madueke, who has been capped four times for the England U21 side, even after signing Mudryk.
And they look to have got their man, with Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink claiming that PSV have now agreed to sell the 20-year-old.
