igh-flying Newcastle welcome West Ham to St James’ Park for today’s evening kick-off.
Clearly, few would doubt David Moyes has struggled this time around even despite a hugely expensive summer outlay and the Scot remains under pressure. Still, having overcome Everton in a Premier League six-pointer before beating Derby in the FA Cup, perhaps things are on the rise.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are chasing Champions League qualification and recently booked their journey to Wembley in the Carabao Cup final later this month. Generally so strong at home, Eddie Howe’s side head in as favourites but the emotional high of midweek could allow West Ham to strike while the Magpies are on their way down.

Newcastle vs West Ham team news
Bruno Guimaraes will miss the game following his sending off against Southampton, while Alexander Isak could be forced to sit it out due to concussion protocols. Both Anthony Gordon and Harrison Ashby – who left the Hammers for Newcastle on deadline day – could make their debuts.
For West Ham, Gianluca Scamacca and Kurt Zouma are injured, while Maxwel Cornet remains unavailable. Meanwhile, all of Declan Rice, Lucas Paqueta, Lukasz Fabianski and Vladimir Coufal were rested against Derby and are expected to come back into the starting lineup.
There is good news on the Danny Ings front, however, with the forward’s injury not thought to be serious.
