Acclaimed German photographer Juergen Teller is set to impart his wisdom with students in London this week, when he hosts a photography Masterclass at Istituto Marangoni in Shoreditch.

Set to take place on Friday, February 2nd 2024 from 4pm at the prestigious fashion and design school, the class will consist of a presentation on fashion photography and Juergen’s work, including his Handbags series and W Magazine Best Performances portraits.

Fashion Styling, Creative Direction and Visual Merchandising Programme Leader, Nicola Favaron will also host a Q&A.

Students will have the chance to speak with Teller during the session.

Speaking ahead of the event, Valérie Berdah-Levy, London School Director, said: “We are thrilled to have an iconic, international photographer such as Juergen Teller speak to students and inspire them for the future of fashion.”

Best known for his candid portraits of celebrities, innovative fashion editorials and distinctive campaigns for designers such as Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood and Loewe, Juergen Teller first rose to prominence in the early 90s and has since become the star of a minority group of internationally acclaimed photographers who are highly regarded in both commercial photography, and contemporary art.

Notables Teller has photographed include Cindy Sherman, Kristen McMenamy, Kate Moss, Sofia Coppola, Vivienne Westwood, Kurt Cobain, David Hockney, Kanye West, Boris Mikhailov, and William Eggleston.

He has also directed several fashion films, shorts and artist videos, and published over 40 artist books, made in collaboration with Gerhard Steidl of Steidl Verlag, Gottingen over the last twenty years.
