John Lewis has joined forces with critically acclaimed recording artist Laura Mvula to release a contemporary rendition of Paul Simon’s ‘I Know What I Know’ as a charity single for the British department stores Live Knowingly campaign.
Speaking about the release, Rosie Hanley, Director of Brand for John Lewis, said, “Laura Mvula’s charity single perfectly captures the spirit and confidence of our Live Knowingly campaign. At John Lewis, we stand for quality, service, and value—principles that remain just as important today as they were 100 years ago. We’re incredibly proud of both the campaign and the music, classic elements reimagined for the modern era.”
With Mvula adding, “I’m thrilled to be part of this campaign. Contributing to such a meaningful initiative through music is truly special.”
I Know What I Know
John Lewis is donating all profits from the single to the Building Happier Futures program, a part of the John Lewis Partnership Foundation.
The donations will help create supportive communities where care-experienced individuals can thrive by providing employability support, unlocking the potential of this talented group, and helping families and carers build happy, secure homes.
The Live Knowingly campaign, launched on September 19th, celebrates John Lewis’ 100-year promise of “Never Knowingly Undersold,” reaffirming the brand’s commitment to price, quality, and trust.
