London based earth conscious fashion label Blue Nude presents Borealis, a winter capsule shaped by stillness, shifting light and the quiet power of the far north. The collection marks a key moment for the brand as its first unisex offering. It blends tactile craftsmanship with poetic storytelling rooted in Arctic exploration. Rather than offering typical winterwear, Borealis encourages its wearer to feel the landscape itself, the glow of polar morning and the hush of snow underfoot.
Creative Director Katarina Protsack journeyed through Svalbard, where light and shadow shift with startling drama. Calm breaks into storm. Isolation begins to feel like connection. Her interest in the works of Norwegian painter Kåre Tveter deepened the project. She compared his visions of the Arctic with her own snowmobile trips across the tundra, translating sensation into colour, movement and form.

Artistry in Collaboration with Studio Cosmogram
Blue Nude continues its tradition of working with emerging creatives. For Borealis the brand collaborated with Coline L’Achiver, founder of Studio Cosmogram. During their research trip, the pair witnessed the transition from polar night to midnight sun. Colours shifted minute by minute, and they tracked the changes through ombre screenprints and solargraph studies. These experiments later became the foundation of the capsule’s prints and textile language.
“Each minute the colours and shadows had something new to show us,” L’Achiver notes.
“The fragility of the changing light summoned something bigger than us.”
As a result, Borealis feels quiet yet expressive. Fabric appears to hold light, not just colour. The collaboration positions Blue Nude as a thoughtful luxury house that sees garments as a union of art, climate awareness and subtle elegance.
Colour and Fabric: Frosted, Calm, Refined
The palette draws from glacial tones: soft blue, frost white, mineral grey and tundra neutrals. Materials deliver comfort with intention.
