Arabian Weekly report

RIYADH —Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, said that Riyadh’s new entertainment facility ‘The Venue’ will host the E-Sports World Cup Final in August.

In a statement on his X account, Al-Sheikh said that construction works of “The Venue” have begun and it will be completed within a record period of time spanning over 50 days. “The project is being implemented by the Sela Sport Company, owned by the Public Investment Fund, with the participation of Saudi staff. ‘The Venue’ facility will be used to hold large events and would relieve pressure on the Kingdom Arena,” he said, adding that ‘The Venue,’ located near the Kingdom Arena, will be available for all ministries, agencies and the private sector for holding their events,” he said.

Al-Sheikh thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, who is an inspiring leader and godfather of the vision, for their support to the initiative. “The determination of the Saudis has no limits,” he pointed out.

The Esports World Cup will be held at the Riyadh Boulevard City, during a period of eight weeks between July 3 and August 25, 2024. More than 1,500 players, representing 500 elite international clubs, will compete in 22 matches of the tournament.
