This marks the second year of Johnnie Walker’s ‘Bold Steps’ initiative, which seeks to champion multicultural talent across various creative sectors.
Dankie Sounds has been instrumental in introducing Amapiano, a South African music genre, to the UK audience. Amapiano, known for its blend of deep house, jazz, and soulful rhythms, has been taking over the global airwaves.
In celebration of this partnership, Dankie Sounds and Johnnie Walker have co-produced Bold Steps, a short film directed by the renowned MaraLee. Known for her work with top UK artists and music festivals, MaraLee perfectly captures the spirit of this collaboration, offering a visual testament to their shared mission of empowering creative talents in the music industry.
Set against the backdrop of a lively dinner party, the film features prominent members of the Dankie Sounds collective, including Via Seri, DJ L.A.J, Nicky Summers, Muva T, Captain Lulaz, and Nqobile. Together, they bring their unique energy to the screen, emphasising the importance of boosting visibility for creative talent within the Amapiano community in the UK.
