Critically acclaimed British artist David Shrigley taps into the collective mood of an entire generation, with the launch of a brand new silk scarf, adapted from one of his fastest-selling limited editions of all time.
Untitled (It’s Just One Fucking Thing After Another) was modified from an original David Shrigley painting, only 250 copies of which were previously available as limited-edition posters from the artist’s ‘Shrigley Shop’ in 2022.
Upon its release, the poster became the fastest-selling item in the shops history, selling out online in less than 5 minutes.
Handmade in Lake Como, Italy – a European epicentre of silk scarf production dating back to the 16th century – the scarves were created from 100% pure silk, and are GOTS and FSC certified.
Best known for his distinctive drawing style, and works that make satirical comments on everyday situations and human interactions, David Shrigley was born in 1968 in Macclesfield, UK.
Founded by Shrigley and gallerist Nicolai Wallner in 2021, the Shrig Shop serves as an extension of David’s practice through the production of limited editions, art objects, posters, printed matter and merchandise, sold online internationally and at a physical shop in Copenhagen.
Inspired by Keith Haring’s Pop Shop in New York, Shrig Shop functions as a place where David can experiment and develop ideas “autonomously outside of artworld expectations”.
Shrig Shop products are stocked by a number of museums and institutions worldwide, including Tate in the UK, and National Gallery of Victoria in Australia.
