After months of speculation, Condé Nast have announced that London-born fashion journalist Chioma Nnadi will replace Edward Enninful at the helm of British Vogue, becoming the magazines new Head of Editorial Content.
Speaking from her New York home, Nnadi said: “Is there pressure? Yeah, there’s definitely pressure – it’s Vogue! It still means something to be in Vogue, it still has authority. Edward broke new ground. It’s more than being part of a magazine – it’s part of the cultural conversation.”
In her new role Ms. Nnadi will focus on “digital storytelling” and keeping Vogue “interactive” with readers.

1. Born to a Swiss-German nurse mother, and a Nigerian father who came to the UK to study in the 1960s, Nnadi grew up in central London.
2. Her star sign is Taurus.
3. The fashion writer credits growing up in London, where the “energy of the city – its boundary-pushing style and creative scene”, for shaping the way she looks at the world.
4. As a teen Chioma admits she had “quriky” fashion sense, and a “nerdy obsession” with Manga cartoons.

8. In the late 2000’s, she relocated to New York City where she began to write for Trace (an independent style magazine), before becoming Style Director at Fader.

10. Nnadi was named as the magazines US Fashion News Director in 2014, a position she held for six years.
11. In 2020 it was announced the London native would replace Stuart Emmrich as the Editor of Vogue.com.
12. Her most recognised cover stories include profiles of celebrities including Rihanna, Cara Delevigne, and Erykah Badu.
13. She is a co-host of the podcast, The Run-Through – a weekly broadcast that takes listeners inside the world of Vogue.
