Luxury meets performance in the latest release from BMW, as the brand introduces a new BMW M fragrance line. Designed to capture the adrenaline, precision and legacy of its performance division, the collection features three Eau de Toilettes: 1972, 1985 and 2025.

While rooted in automotive design, the collection also leans into modern perfumery. As a result, each scent reflects a different era of BMW M, translating engineering into a distinctive sensory experience.


A Fragrance Collection Driven by Performance

At the core of the collection is the spirit of BMW M, where “M” stands for Motorsport. Not only is the division known for high-performance vehicles, but it is also defined by its focus on precision and driving dynamics. Now, that same identity extends into fragrance.

The scents have been created by perfumers Frank Voelkl and Alexandra Monet, in collaboration with DSM Firmenich. In addition, each fragrance uses EMOTIWAVES™, a neuroscience-led approach designed to support mood and wellbeing through scent.

Meanwhile, the packaging reflects BMW M’s design language. It combines glass with aluminium elements, while also incorporating subtle colour references to the brand’s signature stripes.


1972 Eau de Toilette

Inspired by the BMW 3.0 CSL, this fragrance draws on one of BMW’s most celebrated motorsport icons. As such, it captures the energy of early racing heritage.

It opens with citrus and ginger, before developing into soft aromatic notes. Finally, it settles into a warm, woody base. Overall, the impression is fresh, energetic and confident.

1985 Eau de Toilette

This scent takes inspiration from the BMW M3 E30, a defining model in BMW’s performance history. In contrast to 1972, it leans more into balance and structure.

Fruity top notes appear first, while a deeper woody base follows. As a result, the fragrance moves between freshness and depth with ease. It feels refined, yet still retains a clear edge.
