VALLON announces plastic cleanup partnership with CleanHub

FashionVALLON announces plastic cleanup partnership with CleanHub

Outdoor eyewear brand VALLON has announced a new partnership with CleanHub. Through this agreement, the brand strengthens its long-term commitment to plastic cleanup.

Under the partnership, VALLON will fund the collection and recycling of one kilogram of plastic waste for every pair of eyewear sold. In doing so, the initiative builds on the brand’s existing sustainability programme and reinforces its connection to the outdoors.

Previously, VALLON worked with Empower on its plastic recovery efforts. However, the brand has now transitioned to CleanHub in order to scale its impact. To date, VALLON has supported the collection of more than 202,000 kilograms of plastic waste. This figure is equivalent to over 10 million plastic bottles.

To ensure transparency, CleanHub uses a digital track-and-trace system that follows waste from collection through to sorting and responsible processing. Moreover, TÜV SÜD independently verifies the methodology. As a result, VALLON customers receive post-purchase updates that show the cumulative plastic recovery supported by their purchase.

Focus on coastal cleanup in India

Through the partnership, VALLON supports the Clean Kerala project in southwestern India. The region has historically faced challenges linked to limited waste management infrastructure.

As part of the initiative, CleanHub delivers door-to-door waste collection services in local villages. Consequently, the project prevents plastic from entering coastal ecosystems or being openly burned.

At the same time, women-led waste management groups power the programme. These groups receive training, skills development and access to stable income. In turn, the project combines environmental recovery with social empowerment to create long-term, community-led change.

Wider sustainability efforts

Alongside the CleanHub partnership, VALLON continues to expand its wider sustainability strategy. For example, the brand uses recycled and bio-based materials across its eyewear frames. Additionally, it has introduced plastic-free packaging.

Furthermore, VALLON works with Team Malizia and the Malizia Mangrove Park in the Philippines. Through this partnership, the brand funds the planting of ten mangroves for every Malizia frame sold. Together, these initiatives form a broader approach to reducing environmental impact.
