It meant that City lost further ground on Arsenal in the title race, with the Gunners’ lead at the top of the table now six points. Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0 on Tuesday to win their semi-final 4-2 on aggregate.

City are still juggling an injury crisis in defence, with Josko Gvardiol and John Stones still out and Ruben Dias only returning to training on Monday.
The signing of Marc Guehi earlier in the transfer window shored up their defence somewhat, but the former Crystal Palace centre-back is ineligible for this game.
Max Alleyne was recalled from Watford to relieve some of the pressure on Abdukodir Khusanov and Nathan Ake, but his performances since have been hit and miss.
Jeremy Doku is injured once again after he was taken off in the 2-0 win over Galatasaray, while Rayan Cherki is expected to miss out with a knock picked up against Tottenham.
Savinho remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
In midfield, Joelinton’s groin injury could keep him out for a matter of weeks rather than months, Howe assured last weekend, with the Brazilian jetting out to Barcelona to receive an injection.
Lewis Miley and Sven Botman were both benched at Anfield with Howe revealing that the pair had minor knocks but hopes the latter will play on Wednesday evening.
Guimaraes is “doing well” but is unlikely to be fit to face City, according to the Newcastle boss. Swedish right-back Emil Krafth is also out with a knee injury.

Two teams hit badly by injury, but that was also the case when Newcastle travelled to Merseyside last weekend.
They gave a good account of themselves, with the 4-1 scoreline ultimately harsh on the Toon, who had dominated the early exchanges and led deservedly when Anthony Gordon, playing as a centre-forward, put them ahead.
It remains to be seen whether Howe will decide to plump for a greater physical presence up top and play Nick Woltemade, or he could continue with Gordon through the middle, flanked by Harvey Barnes and Anthony Elanga or Jacob Murphy.
City, however, will be wounded from that late Spurs comeback and Guardiola will be sure to want a reaction here.
