In previous years, Glasto-goers have seen everything from torrential rain to spectacular sun-filled weekends, but this is England, and come rain or shine, the show must go on.
But how will the weather hold up?
What’s the weather forecast?
The festival is kicking off for attendees with some pleasant, if not scorching weather.
The Met Office has said Thursday will experience long patches of sunshine with highs of 20 degrees, before clouds set in in the evening.
Friday will be a hot one, however, with the mercury topping at 27 degrees, sunny intervals and a very low chance of rain. The temperature is expected to remain consistent on Saturday at 26 degrees, but with overcast weather in the morning.
The final day of the festival may also be as hot as 28 degrees, with a very low chance of rain. Sunny intervals are expected in the morning, changing to cloudy weather by night.
What is the weather usually like at Glastonbury festival?
Muddy is typically how Glastonbury goes, with 1997, 1998, and 2004 being particularly mucky editions of the music festival.
The 1997 edition was also one of the coldest with temperatures only reaching 13.2 degrees.
In any case, festival goers will be hoping for moderate temperatures with minimal rain. Let’s hope the good weather holds out!
